Sewer lines are underground water lines that tend to become old and worn out after a period. At A-List Plumbing, our technicians have years of experience replacing sewer pipes.
How Are Sewer Lines Replaced?
The damaged sewer pipes are replaced with new ones through a process called trenching. The excavation usually involves working through your lawn, driveway, or patio. This can turn into an expense you didn’t anticipate. Over time, trenchless sewer line replacement methods such as pipe lining, slip lining, pipe bursting, and modified cross-sectional lining have been developed to prevent such a large-scale disruptive procedure.
Pipe Lining
A polyester pipe impregnated with resin is pushed into the damaged pipes and inflated. The resin material is curated to harden the new pipe into place.
Slip Lining
In slip lining, a new pipe of a smaller diameter is pushed into an existing pipe. Then the area between both pipes is grouted. This helps prevent leakage and makes your pipe structurally stronger.
Pipe Bursting
In this process, old pipes are burst by inserting a newer one. The new pipe is of the same size and is pulled into place with the help of a conical bursting head.
Modified Cross-Sectional Lining
In this method, a folded liner is inserted into the existing pipe. This method involves modifying the cross-sectional profile of the pipe and expanding the liner to fit the existing pipe.
